Pool, Baseball & Stitches

July 28, 2011 Thursday - Took the kids to the pool in the afternoon. Here they are enjoying an ice cream snack.
5 minutes before we are to leave Brittany comes down the water slide and said that Nathan is at the top crying. He then comes down the slide and over to me & not crying now. I asked him what happened and he said that he had tripped on the steps going up and hit his chin. I looked & he was bleeding so I said we need to get out of the pool. He said he did not need a band aide & to not tell the life guard. On the way out I did let them know & they wrote a report on it. When we got home I tried to put a butterfly band aide on it, but Nathan did not like that & so I just got some medicine on it & a regular band aide.
Later we went to the Grasshopper Baseball game that we were invited to that evening. Nathan was enjoying it very much. There was a medical professional there & I asked his opinion if he thought we needed stitches on Nathan's chin. He thought that we probably did & that we should go tonight. At this point it is 8pm at night. Chad found an Urgent Care opened until 9pm and he left & took Nathan to have him checked out & fixed up. They arrived back at the game just when it ended. Nathan had to get 2 stitches in his little chin. Aaahh, my little boy! Chad said he was a trooper and the staff was raving about how well Nathan did. He did not cry or anything. He was so brave and tough. Nathan said that it did not hurt.

Here he is ready for bed.
