1st Grade Party

December 20, 2011, Tuesday - Today is the 1st Grade Winter Party. We started at 8:30am with a breakfast. Then the kids rotated between 4 stations - Christmas Bingo, making cards for a nursing home, story-time and making snowmen. I did the snowman craft and boy, did we have glitter everywhere when it was over. The kids had fun making them though. Nathan enjoyed his party and at 10am they headed to their specials. Only one more day of school and then Christmas break.

FUMC Cantata

December 18, 2011, Sunday - We were blessed today to be able to attend service with Mom, Dad and Grandma and hear dad sing in the Cantata. What a wonderful service and singing Dad and the choir did. Then we enjoyed a delicious covered dish lunch. You are talented Dad!

Letters to Santa

December 17, 2011, Saturday - After caroling I printed a fill in the blank letter to Santa. Brittany and Nathan wrote their letters to Santa and we headed off the Macy's Department Store to mail them. We take them to Macy's each year because they count the letters and donate $1 for each letter to Make-A-Wish Foundation. What an awesome way to help out a great cause. Great photo opportunity too.

Christmas Party and Caroling

December 17, 2011, Saturday - The kids had their Christmas Party at church today at 12. They enjoyed pizza & cupcakes. Then they decorated snowmen & potted poinsettias. Then we split up into groups and went out caroling to shut-ins of the church. There were 8 kids in our group. The kids did great singing to the people. They also handed them a hand painted pot with a poinsettia & a group picture in a Christmas frame. We had a good time and brought joy to the church members.

4th Grade Winter Party

December 16, 2011, Friday - Brittany's class party was from 11-12:30pm today. Her class had won the McTeacher Night high attendance at McDonald's in November & they all won a Happy Meal. So the class parent picked up all the Happy Meals and the kids had those for lunch in the class. Then they played a pass the present game, made a reindeer ornament and snowman bookmark. Fun was had by all.

Lunch with Nathan

December 15, 2011, Thursday - Today I went and had lunch with my baby boy. The class is heading on a field trip tomorrow to the bank, hotel and restaurant & they don't need chaperons. I can still spend time with my buddy though.

Cookies & Service

December 14, 2011, Wednesday - The kids and I made Cut-out Sugar cookies and then later headed to the church for Kids for Christ (KFC) service project. We decorated picture frames to give to the shut-ins when we go caroling on Saturday.

Mom's Birthday

December 13, 2011, Tuesday - Today is Mom's Birthday! After Brittany got home from dance we headed to her place and helped celebrate with goodies, cake and presents. The chocolate cake was yummy. Mom got some neat presents and the kids (and Daddy) even performed a musical song and dance show. Happy Birthday, Mom we love you!

The Christmas Puzzle

December 11, 2011, Sunday - The kids sang at the 11 o'clock worship service today to give people a preview of their Christmas Play tonight. They did great.
Then at 5:30pm we had a covered dish dinner and then the children and youth of the church preformed and sang The Christmas Puzzle. Brittany played the part of Ella and Nathan was a shepherd. It was such a joy to see them on stage preforming in church. They both did super!

Lost Tooth

December 5, 2011, Monday - Brittany lost her tooth at school today. It is the first tooth she has lost at school. She was very excited because she received the "special tooth box" to bring her tooth home with. Way to go Brittany!
