Happy Birthday

April 16, 2015, Thursday - Happy 73rd Birthday to Dad Secraw today!  We hope that he has a wonderful day!

After work Chad, the kids and I unloaded 40 bags of Egg Rocks from Chad's Pilot.  Chad had prepared the area and is now ready to lay down the rocks to make under our deck look nicer.

Sorry about the picture quality - it was raining.

Easter

April 5, 2015, Sunday -Happy Easter, We serve a risen savior!  Got up 5:30am and got ready, got the kids up at 6am and then we were out the door 6:20am to walk over to the beach sunrise service.  It was 56 degrees outside, but the wind was blowing making it a lot colder.  We were so cold.  Heard the message "A Brand New Day", received communion, sang hymns and worshiped with about 300 other people on God's beautiful beach!  The kids wrapped up in the beach towels we brought and Chad and I could not feel our toes in our sandals.  After service we headed to our unit to warm up, eat donuts and have coffee.  The kids searched for their Easter Baskets & found them.  For our Easter meal we ate lunch at Cracker Barrel.  Pizza for supper and watched women's final four game of Notre Dame and South Carolina.  ND won.

We got to see the moon set...

and the sun rise!

Palm Sunday

March 29, 2015, Sunday - Celebrated Palm Sunday at church.  The kids carried palm branches into the worship service.  Brittany was a helper with the younger kids.  In the afternoon we had a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  It was fun and the kids got peeps and snacks afterwards.  Then we came home and did a hunt for Brittany and Nathan (since Brittany could not participate in the neighborhood hunt, too old).  Brittany and Nathan sure loved doing the hunt!  Chad and I did several for them & then they hide them for each other.  They were hunting eggs for about 3 hours!  So much fun!

1st Annual Brain Tumor 5K Walk/Run

March 28, 2015, Saturday - Today we participated in the 1st Annual Greensboro Brain Tumor 5K Walk/Run.  It was organized by Chris, Chad's co-worker to bring awareness to brain tumors.  Chris's wife was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in December and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.  The money raised with go toward Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center & their church's benevolence fund to help others going through medical hardships.  It was a cold morning, but we were glad to be participating in this great event and to support Chris & Jennifer.  We started out walking as a family with no intention of running.  A little ways into it, Nathan wanted to pick up the speed & run.  I actually felt the need to pick up the speed too.  Brittany not so much.  So Chad stayed with her at a steady walk & Nathan and I took off running.  As you can see I am wearing jeans and a big winter snow jacket.  Nathan and I kept up with each other and kept jogging.  Our time was 42:31.  My face is so red!  I don't think I have ran since high school.  Nathan did so well!  Chad and Brittany finished at 54:22.
We stayed around for the awards (which we did not know they were giving out awards until we arrived this morning).  We got too cold & they were drifting more off of the scheduled awards time, so we headed home.  At work on Monday Chad found out that Brittany came in 2nd place for her age division 11-19 female.  She won a $20 gift card to Tanger.  And get this....I came in 1st place for my age division 40-49!  Can you believe it?!  I can't!!!  Pretty neat.  I won a free oil change.
We pray that Jennifer stays strong and that God will wipe that tumor from her body!
