First Snow of the Season
February 19, 2012, Sunday - This morning was a busy one at church. After Sunday School Chad and I greeted the lovely people coming into the sanctuary for the 11am worship service. Then we headed to the multi-purpose room & got ready to teach KOW (Kids Own Worship). This is a service for kids ages 4 years old-5th grade. We taught on the meaning of Lent. It was a fun morning. We had beans everywhere! After lunch we headed to the Coin Show at the coliseum with Paul and Paul. It had started to sleet some. We paid for parking and Chad dropped us off in the icky weather up front & went & parked. After all that, we went to the doors to go into the coin show and they said they were packing up and we couldn't even go in. Bummer! Chad got a refund for the parking and we headed to the mall. We had forgot they have a glow golf in the mall & after walking around remembered and we took the kids there. It was super fun. They played 32 holes. After that they were ready to hit the Candy Shop. And then you won't believe what happened......it started to snow! Wow - it has not snowed all winter...we thought we were just not going to get any this season and wow - we are getting snow. We headed for Mexican for dinner and enjoyed watching it come down during our meal. Yeah - we have snow!

Fun in the Park
February 18, 2012, Saturday - Nathan did great today in his Upward Basketball game. He made 3 baskets! Brittany did great in her game too and she made 6 baskets. What a fun morning!
After lunch Chad's brother, Paul and his friend, Paul arrived from Pennsylvania. We took the kids to the park. Oh, man, amazing weather - 70's. Such a beautiful day to be outside.

Yummy and simple
Valentine's Day
February 14, 2012, Tuesday - Valentine's Day - This morning I helped in Nathan's class with their snack. After school Brittany had dance & I picked up everyone and we headed to the CiCi's Pizza school night. So much for a night out with the hubby. Oh, well, the kids will only be this young once. We enjoyed pizza, dessert and prizes. We ended the evening opening gifts, tokens of our love.

Yarn Hearts
February 11, 2012, Saturday - Nathan had to miss pictures and his game this morning. Chad and Brittany headed off for their pictures and game. No pictures of the game, sorry, I was here with sick child. Brittany said they won though - 49-32.
Later in the day I was making Yarn hearts for Valentine decorations, an idea I discovered on Pinterest (latest craze, basically just a way to organize things you like & find on the web, but you can also see what your friends find & like too) and the kids wanted to try. It is such a simple craft that they enjoyed making them. Nathan decided to make his a circle, triangle and an oval. Brittany liked it so much she made about 8 of them and decided to give them as gifts to her teachers. She also made a mobile out of hers.

Valentine Snack
February 10, 2012, Friday - I helped out with the Valentine snack in Brittany's room this afternoon. When Nathan came home he was not feeling well. We headed off to the doctor and he has strep throat. After picking up a "sorry your sick & thank you for being patient in the waiting room" krispy kreme donut for both kids & getting the prescription at Target...3 hours later we are back home. Ate some dinner and then helped Brittany get ready for the Parent Child Valentine's Dance at school. I was suppose to go with Nathan, but that did not work out. Chad and Brittany went during their time slot. They returned home and said they had a great time. It was not really a parent child dance though. There was not a lot of room for the parents to even fit on the dance floor. They enjoyed their dessert and drink and time together.

Basketball and Legos
February 4, 2012, Saturday - The kids had basketball this morning. Nathan played at 9am. After the game received his star award and then we hurried back to the court. Brittany's game started at 10am and was missing a few players. Nathan was allowed to play on the team to help them out. The Falcons are a 3rd/4th grade team, but Nathan could hold his own.

In the afternoon I took Brittany and Macie to the Lego Friends Event at Toys-R-Us. Brittany absolutely LOVES the Lego Friends that have recently come out. The girls got to make a free lego lemonade stand with lego kitty. Lego donates $1 for each stand made to childhood cancer research. What a great way to spend an afternoon!
