Carpenter Bees

October 11, 2012, Thursday - The Carpenter Bees just love to fly on over and eat our wood trim on the house.  So aggravating!  Over the years we have had the holes repaired & fixed, but you know what, they keep coming back!  So we finally decided to bit the bullet and have the board replaced with the new PVC boards.  The bees can not chew through this!  Check out the pictures!  So glad we did this and makes the house look better too.  2 before pictures, 3 during, and 3 after.

Can you beat them?

October 10, 2012, Wednesday - Nathan has a game tonight against the Tar Heels.  Nathan made a goal, but it did not count because the ball was suppose to touch another player first before going in.  On well, it was a good one!  The Twisters lost 2 -14.  2 of the players on the other team were from his Championship team last season.  We just could not stop them!  Brittany helped me video the game.

Roller Skating and Skits

October 7, 2012, Sunday - Chad & Nathan arrived back early this morning from their trip.  It rained on them some during the night & was raining this morning.  Later the kids went to Macie's roller skating birthday party.  They had a lot of fun!  In the evening, we had the family over for chocolate cake and ice cream.  The kids even put together a skit and performed for all of us!  Fun times!

Camping and Festivals

October 6, 2012, Saturday - Up early!  Nathan and Daddy are headed to their first Cub Scout camping trip!  I hope they have a great time with all the other scouts and fun activities that are planned.  It is just one night, but I felt like it took me all week to get them packed.  Ha!  Sleeping Bag, flash lights, snacks to buy!  Good luck boys!

Brittany and I had our day planned too.  We headed to Nana and Papa's and joined my brothers and families who have come into town to attend the 40th annual Fall Festival in Asheboro.  Off we go for shopping, food and fun!  Then we enjoyed time at Nana and Papa's.

October 4, 2012, Thursday - Nathan and his box!  He created this costume about a year ago!  So Cute!

Topps

October 3, 2012, Wednesday - After school, Nathan checked the mail - it has arrived!  Nathan saved his "commission" (Dave Ramsey  note - Refrain from referring to the cash that your child earns as an allowance.  "Allowance" implies that the child is somehow not capable of achieving a goal on their own, that we make allowances for our children.  Instead, always refer to it as a commission.  This will give the child a sense of worth, responsibility and capability).
Nathan has been saving his commission for weeks and bought himself the 2011 NFL complete Topps set of football cards.  He loves collecting them!  Following in his father's footsteps.
 He is very good at organizing them by team and then putting them alphabetically in his binders.

Roller Skating and Wisconsin

September 29, 2012, Saturday - It was a kinda rainy day and the kids were bored so Linda and I decided to take the kids roller skating.  Fun exercise indoors!  Chad is in Wisconsin visiting with his family today (pictures to follow - Thanks a lot to Bill for capturing the moments!).  He was in the area for work and was able to extend his stay and visit with them.  What a blessing!

Against Lightning

September 27, 2012, Thursday - Soccer game tonight against Lightning.  We won 7-3.  Nathan did not score any this game, but he was a great goalie.  Nana and Papa came to the game in style!
