Slippin' and Slidin'
January 31, 2010, Sunday - Church was canceled for today. The roads are packed with snow and ice. We got out this morning and sledded for 2 hours. We have come in for lunch and a break and will head back out at 4pm to get more sledding in before dark. We can't remember when the roads were this packed. Great sledding conditions. The kids really like eating the snow too!

Snow Much Fun
Saturday Morning
January 30, 1020, Saturday - The snow did come! And it is still snowing (9:47am). We are also getting some freezing rain. I just measured and we received 7 1/2 inches so far. It is beautiful! We will take the kids out sledding when the freezing rain lets up. Most colleges and businesses are closed around here. The news advises not to get on the roads until maybe Monday. I know my Wisconsin relatives are probably thinking we are a little weird. I am glad this happened on the weekend so the kids won't miss too much school and Chad can be home to have fun too.

January Snow
January 29, 2010, Friday - Brittany was suppose to have a field trip today, but it will be rescheduled. Our school system for some reason decided to announce this morning at 5:30am that all schools would close today 2 hours early (the snow is not expected until around 6pm tonight). So they woke us up early....and made all these thousands of parents scramble to rearrange schedules because their kids would be getting out early. I was not very happy.
The snow did come! Chad saw the snow at his work (north of here) before the kids and I. It started here around 5:30pm. They are expecting 8-12 inches! We are so excited. I am ready to make snow cream this time with the kids. A favorite past time of mine! These pictures were taken at 5:52pm.

Upward Basketball - 1st game
January 23, 2010, Saturday - This morning at 9am Brittany and Nathan had their first Upward basketball game. Brittany has been practicing twice a week since Jan. 7th. Nathan however practiced for 30 minutes on Thursday (due to Mommy had a meeting and so I dropped him off with daddy). Nathan then got to play on the team because they were down a member and needed even numbers.
So with coach, Chad (Dad) the kids played in their first Upward basketball game. It was awesome! The kids did really great. It was so fun to watch them run up and down the court, steal balls, dribble, run with the ball, shoot and having fun. Brittany made a few goals and Nathan made one goal too. Brittany handled the ball really well. She is a good dribbler and has good control of the ball and she stuck with her person. She really surprised me on the court. My little dancer....a sports player! I am so proud of her. Brittany and Nathan listened to their coach well too. Way to go kids. I look forward to watching their games.

Snowy Wisconsin
December 26-31, 2009, Saturday - Thursday - We enjoyed a great trip to visit Chad's family in northwest Wisconsin. Boy, was it a winter wonderland. It was the first time in about 3 years we had all the grandchildren together. 9 of them and they played really well. Chad enjoyed trying "ice fishing" with his brother and we had a lot of fun taking the kids sledding at his other brother's house. It was a great holiday vacation!
