Happy Birthday Chad!

September 23, 2010, Thursday - Too bad Chad had to work on his birthday, but he did. I don't really know any employer that gives the employee the day off on his birthday except the Coast Guard! So, Chad went to work and then we headed right to Nathan's soccer game at 6pm. Great game - the Gators won. Then we had dinner at Subway next door & enjoyed cake and presents. Thank you Mom for coming for the festivities. Chad enjoyed the homemade presents from the kids. Chad you are a great husband and a wonderful father to our family. We look forward to sharing many, many more birthdays with you! We love you!

September Soccer

September 18, 2010, Saturday - September 25th, 2010 Saturday - Nathan had his first soccer game of the Fall season on the 18th & has had 2 more since. The Green Gators are now 3-0. Nathan does great at keeping the ball with him and scoring and being a team player. He took quite a fall during the first game, but he recovered. Keep up the great work, Nathan. 4 games left.

Nathan's Big Catch

September 11, 2010, Saturday - Nathan caught a 10 inch large mouth bass right off our dock today. So awesome! The water is so clear that Nathan could see it swimming up to the worm. He normally catches lots of sunfish. He caught 6 of those today. Once Chad got it in the bucket of water on the dock, he was splashing around getting everything wet. He weighed almost 1 pound. Nathan was so excited and so were we! I am glad I was there and had my camera for this precious moment.

Labor Day Weekend

September 5-6, 2010, Sunday & Monday - After church we headed to Badin Lake. We enjoyed a great time with Mom, Dad and Grandma. We took a boat ride, swam in the lake, swam in the pool, played on the playground, took golf cart rides, scooter rides, walked the dog, enjoyed yummy food, played pool, and enjoyed the sunset.

First Day of School

August 25, 2010, Wednesday - Today is Nathan's first day of kindergarten. He is very excited. Brittany will be in 3rd grade and she is also excited about her new class. I woke the kids up at 6:15am & we got ready. They had picked out what they wanted for their first day of school breakfast. Nathan wanted a honeybun and Brittany wanted cinnamon rolls. Yummy, yummy. We took pictures and headed to school. We took Nathan to his class first. He found his desk & after smiling for more pictures he started to draw on his blank paper. He did very well with us saying good bye. He was happy.
Then we took Brittany down to her hall....her class was a little different atmosphere...kids were working quietly on a word search & we were the only parents in there at the time. Took a few pictures & said good bye. She is in good hands.

Lemonade at Mrs. Farmer's after school. She said that her & her husband have been doing this for 15 years now. What a neat thing to do for the kids.

Daytona

August 15 - 22, 2010 - Sun. - Sun. - We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida for the week. We drove and it took about 8 1/2 hours, not bad. Sun, water and beach everyday...we could get used to this! We are such a beach family. For those of you who haven't heard our story, Chad and I met at Daytona Beach. He was on his senior year of college spring break and I was on my sophomore year spring break...and the rest is history. Married for 14 years now. God is so amazing. We saw his hand in it from day one.

Enjoy the pictures!

We have to stop for free fresh Florida squeezed orange juice & fun brochures!

The kids each made a boat from 50 Popsicle sticks & then got to race them on Tuesday down the lazy river. Nathan came in 6th and Brittany 7th!We really enjoyed spending time with my aunt from Texas and my uncle from Longboat Key a few days of our trip.

Playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii. Fun family time.Posing on the turtle across the street.

Having fun on the Lazy River.

Our View
Beautiful Rainbow that appeared over the Atlantic. It didn't even rain on the land.
I did a hair wrap for Brittany. I learned how to make them after returning from Florida last year. I wanted my daughter to have one, but I didn't want to pay the price. I said I bet I can figure that out...I got a book & now I can do them myself.

Pool Time
One of many sand castles we built during the week.

Turtles & Frogs

August 12, 2010, Thursday - On our way to church this morning to help with packing school supply bags we found a baby female Eastern Box Turtle walking across our busy parkway. I immediately pulled over & put my flashers on. She managed to stay alive from the car that was in front of us, thank goodness. The car behind me went around me & I picked her up. I announced to the kids what I found. We were so excited. I had to turn around and take her home. We made her a house with grass & gave her water & food & then headed to church.
Growing up every summer we would find box turtles in the yard or garden. You don't find them much around anymore. She is so cute. We took pictures & we were fascinated by her. We let her go back where we found her in the grassy area (not the road). :) We hope she has a long and happy life!
Nathan caught 6 frogs in our yard this morning. It is so neat for Nathan to just go outside and catch frogs. Perfect for a boy to do!
