Major Snow Storm

February 26, 2015, Thursday -We woke up this morning to about 6 1/2 inches of snow! Wahoo! No school today. The kids had fun sledding, making snow forts, making snowmen, making some Snow Cream, delicious, and some sugar cookies!

February 25, 2015, Wednesday - The kids had a 2 hour delay today for the snow and ice to finish melting off the roads. Tonight the weather man is calling for a winter snow storm to come through the state. Our area is expecting 4-6 inches. Around 9pm it started to snow. The kids were so excited and ran outside & ran around the deck. Here we go again!

It's finally the weekend!

February 21, 2015, Saturday - They were calling for light flurries here this morning, but it didn't happen. It was more west of us. Last basketball game of the regular season is on for today at 3pm. The 3 pictures below are taken on sports mode and they are 1 second apart. Nathan played his best game today. He was aggressive and really played well. He was scrapping for the loose balls & got a couple of shots off. The team lost 14-26, but we are proud of Nathan and how he played.

Day 4 of No School

February 20, 2015, Friday -Well, no school again today. Who knew that 2 inches of snow on Monday would cause the kids to be out all week. This winter we have been blessed with Eastern Bluebird families in our backyard. We have loved watching them on the feeders and in the bird houses. Here is a picture I captured today.

February 17, 2015, Tuesday - We got a little over 2 inches of snow here. Beautiful!

Winter Storm 2015

February 16, 2015, Monday - Last night the school called and made the decision to close schools 2 hours early today because a winter storm is moving in from the west. It is suppose to start snowing around 4pm today. The kids were excited to head to school knowing they were getting out early.
Right at 4pm the snow started coming down. Our first snow of the winter!

Valentine's Day

February 14, 2015, Saturday - We had a nice Valentine's Day. The kids opened some gifts, then we had Nathan's basketball game & then Nana and Papa watched the kids so we could go out to a nice restaurant. Love this family so much! Thank you Nana & Papa for watching the kids!

Chop, Chop, Chop the Wood

Saturday, January 31, 2015 - Dad came over early this cold morning with his handy, dandy tools. We had 2 rotten tall trees cut down back in the spring and we needed to have them chopped up. Dad sawed, Chad split the wood and I loaded in the wheel barrow & stacked it. We worked from 9am-4pm, but we got the job done! Now we are stocked up on firewood for our firepit. We also got 6 seats out of it too! Thank you so much Dad!

Thursday, January 29, 2015 - We celebrated Grandma's 93rd Birthday at Mom & Dad's house. Uncle Steve (Florida) and Aunt Sue (NC Mountains) were able to make the trip to come. Mom made a delicious lasagna meal. Grandma blew out her neon flashing lighted candles & we enjoyed Lemon Pie (her favorite), frosted sugar cookies & mini melt away mints. We enjoyed watching Grandma open her presents. It was a nice time with family! We missed those who could not be here.

Grandma Schield turns 93

Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - Happy 93rd Birthday to Grandma Schield today! Wow - another year has flown by. Grandma is doing amazing and we are so blessed to have her here. She has been under hospice care now for 19 months. She has her ups and down days, but is doing so well to be able to live alone in her own home. You are one tough lady, Grandma. We love you!

School Restaurant Night

Tuesday, January 27, 2015 - When I found out that the school restaurant night involved bingo, well, that kinda sparked my interest. It definitely was an additional bonus to get everyone bundled up, go out in the cold and dark to enjoy a meal and support the school. We went to JP Looney's and we had a great time! Great food, fun bingo with sports trivia, big screen TV's with sports and shows on, seeing people we know and supporting the school, what more could you want. Loved our night out!
