1st Quarter Awards

November 13, 2012, Tuesday - Awards for the first quarter were given out this morning.  Brittany received 3 awards...Perfect Attendance, A Honor Roll and Enthusiastic Learner Award.  Way to Go Brittany!  We are so proud of you!  5th Grade and continuing to do so well in school.  Keep it up!

Operation Christmas Child

November 12, 2012, Monday - The kids had off school today for Veterans Day.  We gave of our time to help at our church for Operation Christmas Child. Our church is a drop off location for the area. We helped bring in boxes from the cars, rubber band them, pack them into bigger boxes, code them, tape them up and load them into the trailer.  Samaritan's Purse is a wonderful Christian organization and we are so happy to help each year with Operation Christmas Child, a program they sponsor.  Delivering toys and God's true word, the Bible to less fortunate children around the world.

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells

November 10, 2012, Saturday - 7:30pm tonight we went to see Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells adapted from the books by Barbara Park at UNCG presented by North Carolina Theatre for Young People.  We were able to get in free with a canned food donation and were some of the last people let in.  We even arrived around 7pm.  That place was packed!  We killed time at the beginning by playing tic-tac-toe and the dot and box game.  Once the show started it had our attention.  It was a great performance!  Great actors, costumes and set.  It was a wonderful family night activity.

Teacher Workday

November 6, 2012, Tuesday - Today was a teacher workday.  We decided to go explore a park in our town.  It was great to get out and get some exercise and spend time in God's creation.

October 31, 2012, Wednesday - The kids had off of school today for a teacher workday.  We made cookies, Frankenstein pudding, craved pumpkins and went trick-or treating!

Class Party/Snack

October 30, 2012, Tuesday - Tuesday's I help out in Nathan's class so when I was there today I snapped a picture of him eating snack. The class mom is suppose to be bringing something later in the day for the kids for Halloween. Later in the day I returned to help give out snack for Brittany's class. They also did a fun activity sheet "Would You Rather".

 Nathan had his tournament game tonight against Silver Bullets.  It was a great game and ended in a tie 4-4.  In overtime Silver Bullets made a point and won.  You played great Nathan and the Twisters had a good season.  We are proud of you!

Trunk or Treat

October 28, 2012, Sunday - Our church is holding it's second annual Trunk-or-Treat for the community.  We were not able to participate last year.  We were happy to be a part of it this year.  We did a Monster Mash theme complete with music & costumes. Kids come and trick-or-treat to each vehicle and we give them candy. It was a fun night!

Birthday Party

October 27, 2012, Saturday - Today we had Nathan's birthday party at the bowling alley.  They are remodeling, but were ready for us to have a fantastic time.  The kids enjoyed bowling 2 rounds, eating pizza, cake, playing laser tag and then playing in the new game room on the state-of-the-art equipment!  Everyone had a blast!  Happy 8th Birthday, Nathan!  We love you so much!
