Happy Birthday, Dad!

March 16, 2012, Friday - Happy Birthday to Dad! About 5:45pm we arrived at Mom and Dad's. Mom was preparing a birthday dinner. Dad was grilling the meat & then the gas went out....luckily Mom has a george forman grill and finished cooking the wonderful dinner. We enjoyed yummy home-cooked food & then a homemade confetti birthday cake. Uncle George's birthday is today too. He had just called to wish Dad a Happy Birthday when we were getting ready to sing and light the candles. So we put Uncle George on speaker phone and sang to him at the same time. Dad opened his presents & the kids enjoyed playing with the ribbons.

6:30 Game

March 15, 2012, Thursday - Nathan had his second soccer game tonight at 6:30pm. Playing against the Dragons. We won 3-2.

Phillips, Craig and Dean

March 14, 2012, Wednesday - Mom came over to watch the kids and Chad and I had the opportunity to go see one of our favorite Christian artists, Phillips, Craig and Dean! We drove to Winston Salem for a free concert. How much better could it get?! We were actually running late, but so were they. So we were there right when they opened the doors and we got seats on the 4th row from the front of the stage. Awesome! Oh, man what can I say? They are an awesome group of senior pastors in 3 different cities singing together for the past 20 years....making wonderful music for God. It was a wonderful night of worshiping God through music. They are releasing a new album & we love every single song.
After the concert we bought their CD and a photo. We then stood in line to meet them in person and get their autograph. Again....awesome! 3 of God's talented people devoted to him! Incredible to meet them in person. Thank you Mom for staying with the kids so we could be a part of this night!

Nathan looses a tooth

March 11, 2012, Sunday - Later in the afternoon I was on the phone with Mom and Nathan comes up to me with a tooth in his hand & his mouth bleeding. I got off the phone and was so surprised at Nathan. He had told me earlier in the day his tooth was bleeding a little. He did have a front bottom tooth that was a little wiggly & he had been wiggling it. And now he comes up to me with the tooth. Wow - way to go Nathan! He said he just gave it a pull and it came right out (while watching TV with sister). Wow - that was quick. This is Nathan's second tooth he has lost.

Basketball Ends Soccer Begins

March 10, 2012, Saturday - 10am game against the Tigers for Nathan's team - 12-30 we lost. Nathan made 1 of the 6 baskets. Great season though, Nathan!
Brittany's team played at 11am against the Hawks and they won and ended the season undefeated! WoHoo!
12:30pm Soccer Game ICE vs. Grasshoppers Wow - what a beautiful day! Lovely 70 degree weather. Great to be outside. Ice won 4-3.
5pm We went to the Upward Awards Banquet. We enjoyed a hot dog dinner, Christian magic show and juggling entertainment and awards. All the kids received an Upward Lunch box and bag of gourmet candy. Congratulations to Macie for winning "Most Christ Like" for 3-4th grade!

Saturday March 3rd

March 3, 2012, Saturday - The Panthers beat the Lions 40-22. Nathan made 9 baskets! Way to go Nathan!

March Madness

March 1, 2012, Thursday - The Women's ACC Basketball Tournament has come to town. They were offering a free clinic for the kids age 6-12 and so I signed my kids up. It was awesome! They both got a free shirt, participated in a clinic, learned some skills, were entertained by a juggler, saw the mascots, got a free Food Lion bagged supper and then we watched the girls Wake Forest Team play against the Virginia Tech team. The kids and us had a wonderful evening. Wake won 80-74.Hoping to catch some prizes falling out of the huge inflatable remote controlled shoe above us.
We even got 3rd row seats for the game.Later we decided to move up where it was not as crowded and be able to see the court a little better.We even managed to make it to Chick-fil-A to support school night.

Upward Basketball

February 25, 2012, Saturday - Upward Basketball - Nathan played at 9am. He made 2 baskets for the team. They lost 16-48.Nathan making a basketNathan receiving his stars after the game.

Then Brittany had her game at 11am. Only 3 players showed up so Daddy allowed 1st grader Nathan to play on the 3rd/4th grade team to help the team out. Nathan ended up scoring 14 points for the team (7 baskets). Brittany scored 4 points (2 baskets). The Falcons won 57-48.
