Mom's Birthday

December 13, 2010, Monday - Today is Mom's Birthday! The kids and I headed over to her house in the afternoon. Dad had a yummy chicken dinner ready & I brought some sides & the birthday paper products. After dinner Mom blew out her birthday candles. I made her a Butterfinger Cake. It turned out delicious! Mom got some great gifts & it was a fun evening. Happy Birthday, Mom!

Gingerbread Cookies

December 12, 2010, Sunday - This afternoon the kids and I had fun making Gingerbread Cookies. I remember making them with Mom back in High School. I thought it was time I should try making them with the kids. It was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Yummy!

Acolyte

December 12, 2010, Sunday - Brittany was trained this week to be an acolyte for our church. She got to help light the candles this Sunday with experienced Matthew. It was a little tricky her first time because the bell choir was set up right in the path so they had to do a little maneuvering. Brittany did great her first time!

National Believe Day

December 10, 2010, Friday - Today is Macy's Department Store's National Believe Day. When you mail your letter to Santa today at their store they will double their donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation. So instead of $1 a letter, they will donate $2 a letter. So I finally got the kids to write their letters and narrow down their lists. We headed to Macy's and mailed their letters. Now Santa will know what they want for Christmas!

December in Our Town

December 9, 2010, Thursday - The third grade students performed "December in Our Town" at 6:30pm. It was great performance. Brittany smiled so good throughout the show. She was great at being an elf dancing after the reindeer. That was a lot of songs to learn & the kids did great! Thank you Nana & Papa for coming!

First Snow this Winter

December 4, 2010, Saturday - The kids had Upward basketball evaluations this morning. Then we headed home and Chad stayed to help. A little after 1pm it started to snow! Awesome! The national weather service only called for a light dusting and we got over 2 inches! Wahoo!

Indoor Waterpark

November 27, 2010, Saturday - We took the kids to an indoor waterpark. We had a lot of fun. It was neat playing in the water when we know it was super cold outside. What a great way to spend a Saturday!

Thanksgiving 2010

November 25, 2010, Thursday - We celebrated Thanksgiving with my aunt and uncle and relatives again this year in the NC mountains. Beautiful day in the 50's. We enjoyed a delicious lunch from everyone's contributions. My cousin even did the turkey this year for the first time. Thank you Kaley!
The kids enjoyed the open air, big swings & catching grasshoppers. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank you God for all of our blessings.
