Dance Trophy & Awana Awards

May 18 & 19, 2010, Tues. & Wed. - Tuesday night Brittany received her Dance Trophy for another great year of Dance.
Wed. night the kids received their Awana Awards. We enjoyed a pizza, salad & ice cream dinner & then the ceremony. Brittany was chosen to carry the Awana flag in and Nathan was chosen to carry the Bible in. Nathan was chosen because he was the hardest worker in his class this year - working in his book every week & memorizing scripture. Way to go, kids!

Happy Mother's Day

May 9, 2010 - Sunday - Happy Mother's Day everyone!

The Mother's Psalm

The Lord is my co-pilot, I shall not rush.
He maketh me to hit all the green traffic lights.
He leadeth me through shopping hassles.
He restoreth my composure.
He giveth me strength to make ends meet for my family's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of laundry, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.
Thy perspective and sense of humor, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me with the assistance of takeout.
Surely clutter and confusion shall follow me most of the days of my life, but I shall dwell in a happy home forever.
Amen.

I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the lake and then a cookout with my family and my mom and dad. Thank you family for a wonderful Mother's Day! I am truly blessed!

Mother's Day Tea

May 7, 2010, Friday - I got to join Nathan today at his preschool for a Mother's Day Tea. The kids sang some songs & then lead us to our seats. They had made handprint place mats & had decorated flower pots with red salvia in them. The kids then got a plate of food & served us. Nathan had a 3 ring binder of the alphabet art he had worked on all year. There was also a Bible book & thumbprint numbers that he had worked on all year. Also a picture of us together in a nice frame. They are all such special gifts. I enjoyed my time with my son! Thank you Nathan!

Time at the Lake

May 1, 2010, Saturday - We took the boat up to SML this weekend and opened up our place for the warm weather. We enjoying going to the bridge by boat & the kids played a round of putt-putt. Nathan has been doing his chores & earned enough star-points & chose putt-putt for his activity. It was perfect. Only us playing....no one behind us making us hurry. Then we enjoyed some ice cream. It got in the 90's Sat. & Sunday. The kids enjoyed fishing time with Daddy too.

Flowers from our yard

April - Here are some NC flowers from our yard. I thought you would enjoy!

Last Spring Soccer Game

March 24, 2010, Saturday - Our day started off with a Yard Sale at 7am. Boy, was our attic full. At least I have made a good dent in clearing out. Lots of kids clothes, shoes and toys that we had for sale. The kids sold lemonade at the yard sale too. They had fun doing that. It teaches them about social skills, money, and being an entrepreneur too. They did sell more when Daddy and Nathan made announcements to the crowd. We closed up at 11:15 to make it to Nathan's last soccer game at 11:30am. Nana and Papa were able to get him there ahead of time for group pictures.
The game went well. The Stingrays were against the Gators. Gators won 7-3. Nathan made 2 of the 3 goals. You just can't stop that kid when he gets the ball. Great day and great game!
